Poullignac Church

Finally, the restoration of our lovely Church in Poullignac has (nearly) finished.

It is a Romanesque Church called Saint-Martin built from the end of the 11th century to the beginning of the 12th.

It was classified as a historic monument in 1987.

The whole project took nearly 4 years, but in my opinion it was well worth it.

Just seeing the Church from the outside all nice and cleaned up looks great.

The work that has been done on this project is really something else.

I could hardly recognise the Church when I went to see it for the first time. Everything has been restored to a very high standard and as said it's nearly finished.

As you can imagine the whole village is very proud of our Church.

So, what do you think? Why not compare some of the pictures before the restoration and after.

These are all the photos I have for now. Make up you own mind if you like our lovely Poullignac Church restored.

Should you ever be in the area why not have a look in and see it for real.

And if you want to spend a bit of time in this lovely area and are looking for somewhere to stay, why not check out 'La Petite Maison'. You even would be able to see the Church from the garden at 'La Petite Maison'.

Whatever you do, have a great time…
