Great Weekly and Monthly Street Markets

When I think of France I always think of the fantastic Markets they have in a lot of the Villages. They are weekly or monthly Markets for you to enjoy.

You can browse around and find local produce, georgous plants and flowers, herbs and spices and of course the clothes stalls are never far away..........

Following I have listed some of the once that are happening here in the Charente.

Just a little note for you to remember, most are in the mornings only and close around 13.00, as everybody needs lunch.

Monday Chalais: This is on in the mornings and all the streets on the main stretch are closed to traffic.

You will find local produce, fresh flowers and plants and other general goods.

I like to buy my Chickens there. (No, not to eat - egg laying once!!!!!!)

Tuesday Cognac: It's a big indoor one with the local produce and the general ware.

Jarnac, Mansle and Vivonne: All in the town centre selling general produce and household goods.

Wednesday Rochefoucauld: Another outdoor one in the Square selling general goods and produce.

Ruffec: It's outside in the town centre and selling produce and general goods.

Cognac: Again it's indoors selling produce and general goods.

Thursday Jarnac: Outside in the Town Centre selling general goods and produce.

Cognac: Same as before.

Aigre: It's outside in the Town Centre and is well known for selling lovely fresh fish and wine.

Mouthiers sur Boeme: This takes place at the Place du Champ de Foire.

Friday Cognac: Again same as before.

Jarnac: Same as already mentioned.

Mansle: In the Town Centre selling produce and general goods.

Ruffec: Same as mentioned.

Saturday Cognac: As before.

Rochefoucauld: Outside on the Square selling produce and general goods.

Ruffec: Same as before.

Brossac: In the Town Centre selling general goods and produce.

As you noticed some of the towns have one nearly every day.

Here is one monthly one, Rouillac: Always the last Saturday of the month and it is throughout the town. It's a big fair type one selling produce, general goods and livestock.

Well, I hope there is one that you might enjoy visiting.

Why not go and visit, take some great photos and post some to me.

I will then publish them and maybe some other people have been to the same market and want to leave a comment.

Or why not contact me anyway without photos if you have been to any of the markets I've mentioned.

It's very easy to do, just fill in the form of the bottom of the screen and voila - done!!

Do you have some fab photos?

If you have some great photos of the Markets why not share them.
