Jardin Public in Bordeaux

Just north of the city centre in Bordeaux you will find the Jardin Public or as said in english the Public Gardens.

This garden was built in 1756 and very soon it became a popular public city park.

During the revolution it was used for military purposes.

Originally the Jardin Public was designed as a "French-style" garden, but after 1830 it was entirely redone and now offers a haven of "English-style" garden.

The Gardens are beautifully landscaped and runs along the course de Verdun and it is now offering a relaxing oasis of calm and you would never know you are in the middle of a big city.

This 10 hectare park in the centre of Bordeaux is a perfect place to spend a whole day at the weekend.

You can either walk around, sit and relax or if you would like to find out more about the Garden you can always take one of the guided tours that are on offer.

Sometimes they are workshops and activities for the children as well.

The admission to the garden itself is free.

If you don't want to spend all that time in the lovely Gardens, there are always some wonderful places to do some shopping in Bordeaux.

And after you have had a lovely and busy day why not come back to 'La Petite Maison' and put your feet up by the Pool with something nice and cold.

Just remember to have a great time........
